Rental Ultrafiltration Plant
Water Rentals deployed a rental Ultrafiltration Plant to meet treated water requirements of a community in North Queensland. The application involves treatment of river / surface water to produce water suitable for potable applications. The plant was used to overcome the reliability issues of the existing water treatment plant, becoming the main treatment facility and providing the community with a reliable and assured source of high quality water.
The 2.0 MLD water treatment facility includes auto back washable feed disc filters followed by a one train ultrafiltration system that includes associated chemical dosing systems, chemical cleaning systems and auxiliary facilities such as air compressors and air conditioners. The plant was mobilised within 4 weeks and commissioned within 3 days following completion of installation.
The plant is setup as a composite facility with an advanced common control system that includes Water Rentals’ remote monitoring system. This allows regular monitoring of plant operations and plant performance, reducing site reliance on specialist operators. Remote support and programmed site visits ensure the equipment is maintained pro-actively and that the plant continues to be reliable at all times.
Water Rentals’ service team continues to support the site operations through challenges including
Variations in suspended solids load
Floc carryover
Chemical degradation due to environmental conditions
Remote site with limited local skills
Critical requirement
The rental facility continues to provide a reliable source of treated water and has become integral to the council’s water treatment facilities in the region.
